Web 2.0
All my templates follow the Web 2.0 style of visual design. Web 2.0 focuses on simplicity and aiming straight for site goals, by directing the visitor to content using specific visual elements. This style of design uses specially chosen words and images to convey a message and create the desired feel.
Common features of Web 2.0 visual design style are:
- simple layout
- centered orientation
- design the content, not the page
- images, used sparingly
- soft, neutral background colours
- strong colour, used sparingly
- cute icons, used sparingly
- plenty of whitespace
- nice big text
- fewer columns
- bold text introductions
XHTML and CSS
All my templates are built using XHTML and CSS, where the page layout is structured using the 'DIV' Generic Block-level Container instead of 'Tables'. This concept gives excellent results in terms of search engine optimisation and better performances with contextual advertising programs such as Google AdSense. In addition, page file sizes are smaller; therefore, page downloading speeds are faster.
